What is your soap made of?

The following list of ingredients here are what we use in our products. After making soap for years and testing out different recipes we have come up with a base that is all around great for skin , moisturizing, luxurious and most importantly free of chemicals or harsh and harmful additives.  We never use animal fats in our products or “fillers” .

The Most important ingredient in our Soaps! Home Brewed Beer:

Our Beer Soap is made with our own crafted Home Brew ranging from stouts to ales. Having made both beer soap and non-beer soap,  I believe that beer adds extra creaminess to our soaps .   Our beer soaps will each have different degrees of creaminess dependent upon the beer that we use , the amounts and types of hops, grains, malts, fruits and or nuts used when brewing our beer. If the soaps are left unscented there will be a faint light scent of the beer ingredients that will come through.

Hops, an ingredient found in beer,  itself is known for its relaxing properties . Hops contains poly-phenols thought to account for its anti-bacterial and preservative effects ( beers long life) and it also contains skin-softening amino acids.

Our Beer Soaps have a slightly different look as the beer gives our bars a distinct color and rustic look.

Home Brewed Beer:  All of our homemade soaps are made with our home brewed beer. Each kind of soap we make will resemble the beer that we used for it. We brew everything from stouts to ales, to porters.

Olive Oil: is rich in antioxidants and is known to help fight the signs of aging and it has been a staple in skin care products for centuries.  It is an excellent moisturizer for dry skin and it helps to replenish the skin of its natural oils. Olive oil makes up the largest percentage of oil in our soaps.

Castor Oil: This amazing oil is known to help restore and renew damaged skin that has been exposed to pollutants and toxins.. this oil has a very low molecular weight making it possible for it to penetrate thoroughly into your skin. Castor oil contains ricnoleic acid which has strong anti-inflammatory benefits and also contains Isostearate Succinate which delivers conditioning benefits to the skin. This oil can help to protect and improve the overall quality and health of your skin.

Coconut Oil:   This rich oil can help to heal and protect the skin. Coconut oil is well known in the islands and has been used there as a topical oil to protect and nourish the skin. This oil is rich in fatty acids and has disinfectant and anti-microbial properties.  Coconut oil is high in Vitamin E which is known for its skin healing properties.  This oil also contains triglycerids which help lock in moisture to your skin aiding to retain softness and suppleness.

Avocado Oil :  This oil is very high in Vitamin E & omega-3 essential fatty acids making it wonderful for your skin and giving off soothing and softening effects to your skin.  Avocado oil also contains vitamins A & D and especially beneficial for dry and aging skin.  It is known to help increase the production of collagen and is easily absorbed into your skin.

Shea Butter is naturally rich in a number of vitamins including A, E & F … A & E are known to balance and normalize your skin. Both have soothing and hydrating properties and help to provide healthy skin collagen which prevents premature wrinkles, facial lines and slackened skin.  Vitamin F acts as a skin protector and revitalizer. It consists of 3 major fatty acids,  linoleic, linolenic and arachidonic acids. Vitamin F is also soothing to rough, dry or irritated skin and helps to soften dry or damaged hair.  Shea butters ability to penetrate the skin makes it great for use on your hair or skin and it doesn’t leave a greasy residue like petroleum or mineral oil based products do.

Cocoa Butter:   This butter is very high in Vitamin E which aids in promoting the skins elasticity, helping to minimize the formation and appearance of scar tissue.  This butter is solid at room temperature but reacts quickly to your skins body heat , helping it to penetrate deeply into your skin..  This butter also not only deeply penetrates your skin but it also develops a protective layer on your skin keeping it safe from the elements and locking in moisture.

Hemp Seed Butter: Hemp Seed is made up of 80% essential fatty acids, which is the highest amount of any other plant. Hemp seed is known to help prevent moisture loss as it helps to replenish our (EFA’S) which helps our skin hold moisture , making it a natural humectent. A humectant is something that attracts and holds water. Hemp so closely matches our skin lipids it is able to penetrate inside our cells and lubricate the the surface between them, this brings the EFA’s within our bodies.   Essential Fatty acids have been known to help play a preventative role in skin aging and maintaining a healthy moisture balance. Hemp is also the only plant that contains Vitamin D which is crucial for calcium absorption.  Products that contain hemp seed oil are hard to come by. They are a great way to help achieve soft, smooth, and hydrated skin.

Essential oils:  We use high quality 100% pure essential oils for all of our soaps. We do not use fragrance oils in any of our products.
